Paintings 1989\u20132019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, G\u00f6ppingen artist Dieter Schumacher celebrated his 80th birthday. On the occasion of this anniversary, four exhibition venues in and around G\u00f6ppingen showed a selection of his works and image cycles. The Kunsthalle G\u00f6ppingen published a catalog which I had the chance to design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The works of the artist, who is active in G\u00f6ppingen, can be divided thematically into groups. In each series of pictures, Schumacher engages with a topic that occupies and accompanies him over an extended period of time. One example is Dante&#8217;s <em>Inferno<\/em>, which the artist worked with in his &#8220;Totentanz&#8221; cycle. Accordingly, the book is structured with differently colored fore-edges for each chapter.
