Bodo Kraft assembled his “quadri” out of four single images which communicate with each other. While the overall impression is rather harmonious, the individual motifs create confusion and room for interpretation. The same applies to the extreme vertical format pieces “studio walls”, some of which were also shown in the exhibition.
The book echoes the structure of canvas with its finely embossed hardcover and gives an impression of the fine colors of the “quadri” with a sample image printed on the end papers. The endbands are a neutral gray in order to give priority to the color of the pictures. A page marker allows the reader to take a pause without losing her place, as there is much to be read in Kraft’s images.
