Lightworks. Bill Culbert

When Bill Culbert was awarded the 2014 Erich Hauser Prize, an accompanying exhibition was mounted at the Kunststiftung Erich Hauser in Rottweil. In addition to the Culbert’s current light object works, some pieces from the 1970s were on display. The catalog includes all exhibited works, an investigation into the life and work of the artist, and a recounting of the award of the prize itself. For this publication, in addition to the compact landscape format, we opted for a very soft, yet raw paper with a high percentage of cotton for the cover. The choice acts to counter the clean neon light works by Bill Culbert illustrated, as well as encouraging readers to take the book in hand over and over again.
