Erich Hauser: On the Occasion of his 90th Birthday
The sculptor Erich Hauser, who died in 2004, would have celebrated his 90th birthday on December 15, 2020. To mark the jubilee, the Erich Hauser Art Foundation set up a website which, as the months passed, filled up with reminiscences from a wide range of associates. Thus was formed a very lively picture of Hauser’s artistic life and work, as well as of his activities as initiator of numerous art projects and events.
These contributions were compiled in a jubilee yearbook which we designed—rather unusually for an art publication—in pocket format. Erich Hauser often created model-like designs for his large-scale sculptures. With this book, we have followed his maxim: Think big on a small scale.
